An Ed Rogriguez grandslam and Post 37 still had their work cut out for them vs the Rotary on
opening night.
Rotary struck first with a run in their half of inning one, only to have Post 37 tie it up in their
round. A little help from some bad throws allowed Rotary to plate two and gave them what would be their last lead of
the game. In the bottom of the third Edward Rodriguez powered a shot well beyond the flagpole in straight away center
field, giving him the first home run of the year for BFJL and what a beauty. Post 37 took a 5-3 lead into the fourth,
with one more crossing the plate. Rotary, trailing 6-3, hopped the rally train in the fifth tying the contest at 6 apiece.
The spectacular performance wouldn't be enough, however, as the defending league champions would tap the bullpen for 6 more
in the bottom half of the fifth giving them a 12-6 that would turn into the eventual final score.
Post 37 starts where they left off, now 1-0 on the season. Rotary, 0-1, will play a double-header
Thursday, starting off with the Elks at 3:45 with game 2 to follow.
